School Development Plan 2017-18

Teaching, Learning and Assessment
● To improve number of children reaching age related expectations to be consistently at least 85%
● To embed use of engaging strategies to encourage dialogue and deeper learning
● To improve % of outstanding lessons to 75%
● To ensure training is linked to need in the school and that it has impact
● To ensure Quality First Teaching (QFT) in Maths

Achievement of Pupils
● To review, ensure good range and measure effectiveness of all interventions
● Develop use of soft data ie nurture group and attitudes to self and learning
● Monitor new spelling scheme and impact on learning outcomes
● Plan for, assess and monitor girls progress in Maths
● To teach, model and have high expectations of cursive handwriting and presentation


Leadership and Management
● To develop subject leadership in non core subjects using staff strengths
● To develop all staff middle leaders in an active way to lead Performance Management
● To link with Middle School to review curriculum in Science and ensure progression of skills and knowledge
● To review communication with parents and wider community
● To develop strategies and opportunities for deeper learning in Maths and Science


Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare
● To roll out P4C Philosophy for children, and Mindfulness across the school
● To monitor, improve and embed transition to school, within school and on to a new school
● Create sensory space to meet the needs of individual children
● Develop and extend current extended provision
● Improve attendance especially for most vulnerable
● To develop awareness of money and risk through Fiver challenge
● To review ethos of Rights Respecting School
